We called six stores to see if they cater for cross-dressing
| Question: | "Hello. I'm a man and I'd like to come in and try on womenswear. How do you accommodate customers like me?" | |
| John Lewis: | "All our changing rooms are private, so just try on whatever you like in the men's facilities, during normal shop hours." | |
| C&A: | "Select items and take them to the menswear department." | |
| Liberty: | "I'll get someone from Personal Shopper to call you. We would like to make this enjoyable and not compromise your privacy." | |
| Selfridges: | "No problem. Select the goods you want and try them on in the second or third floor women's changing rooms." | |
| Dickins & Jones: | "We get requests like this a lot. Just select the items and use the women's facilities." | |
| M&S: | "Um, let me ask my supervisor." After a brief wait: "Could you call back so we could see what we could arrange?" |
