How The High Street Sees It

We called six stores to see if they cater for cross-dressing

Question:"Hello. I'm a man and I'd like to come in and try on womenswear. How do you accommodate customers like me?"

John Lewis:"All our changing rooms are private, so just try on whatever you like in the men's facilities, during normal shop hours."
C&A:"Select items and take them to the menswear department."
Liberty:"I'll get someone from Personal Shopper to call you. We would like to make this enjoyable and not compromise your privacy."
Selfridges:"No problem. Select the goods you want and try them on in the second or third floor women's changing rooms."
Dickins & Jones:"We get requests like this a lot. Just select the items and use the women's facilities."
M&S:"Um, let me ask my supervisor." After a brief wait: "Could you call back so we could see what we could arrange?"
