The engine will find every page on which the specified word (as distinct from a string) occurs; thus, photo will find only those pages where that word is. (Hint: use the wildcard * symbol, e.g. 'photo*' will find pages containing photo, photos, photograph, photographs, as well as photodiode, photodiodes, photons etc.)
Use multiple words to find those pages where only all words occur (i.e. there is an implied Boolean AND function); e.g.
'diode reverse'
will only find the pages where both words occur.
